LAUNCH of the call for applications for the first ‘More Than a Market’ Awards: Showcase your social engagement projects!
All German companies with operations in East China (i.e. the district of the German Chamber in Shanghai) that actively pursue social projects are welcome to join the ‘More than A Market’ Awards competition.
The ‘More than A Market’ initiative was launched this year by the German Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, together with the Bertelsmann Stiftung and supported by the German Consulate Shanghai. The aim is to make visible the ways in which the German community engage with Chinese society as well as further generate collaborative action among the German business community for increased impact.
The first ‘More than A Market’ Awards will showcase the social engagement of German companies in China to a large audience of stakeholders. Furthermore, this event will enable the exchange of ideas and rewarding of good practices.
Companies can apply individually or as collaborative initiatives: Interested parties have until 15th January 2016 to submit their applications. Projects will be reviewed by a jury of German and Chinese experts in the field of social responsibility, as well as representatives from the initiative. Finalists will be presented and awarded during the ceremony on 25th May.

In 2015 the German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai, together with the Bertelsmann Stiftung and supported by the German Consulate in Shanghai, launched the "More than a Market" initiative. German companies benefit from an excellent reputation in China. The aim of the ‘More than a Market’ initiative is to strengthen the good standing of the German industry in China by growing stronger roots in society and creating stronger relationships and partnerships between German and Chinese organizations and people.
