Multimedia Creation To Relieve Mermaid

ARTIST Ai Weiwei will create a visual work rather than a stone or metal sculpture to replace Copenhagen's Little Mermaid statue while it is on display in Denmark Pavilion at World Expo 2010.
Ai will use multimedia to display a creation where the landmark statue rests in Copenhagen's harbor, John Hansen, project director of Denmark's Expo Secretariat, said yesterday as construction began on the country's pavilion.
"Ai is thinking about it and the Danish Expo team will give him full space and time," he said.
Ai designed the Bird's Nest national stadium at the Beijing Olympics.
