NAB Show to bring cutting edge media technologies
THE 2017 NAB Show Shanghai opened today as a part of the activities during the ongoing 23rd Shanghai TV Festival. The show will run till June 15 at Shanghai New International Expo Center and Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai with events of exhibition, summit and practical training.
Originated in the United States, NAB Show is a first-class exhibition in the world for radio broadcasting, film, TV and digital media technologies, widely recognized in these areas.
Since its debut in China in 2015, NAB Show Shanghai has been devoted to creating a world-class exhibition where all practitioners in China and the Asian Pacific region could experience and display the cutting-edge new digital media technologies. The up-to-date businesses and technological business formats are also captured here.
This year Shanghai TV Festival and NAB Show Shanghai worked together to create a world-class media feast for international radio broadcasting, film, TV and digital media industries. It is also an official program of the festival.
Around 300 companies participated to display their latest technologies and media solutions in the 20,000-square-meter exhibition halls at Shanghai New International Expo Center.
According to Ferdinand Stoer, NewTek's director of sales in the Asia-Pacifics, his company is bringing high quality video production and sharing with an IP workflow to anybody, from "existing 1G to 10G to 100G ethernets."
An official from Noitom explained their product Trance as "a software that speeds up and raises the quality of movie production." With Trance, directors and cinematographers will immediately visualize their production from the filming stage.
The latest virtual reality (VR) technology and trend were showcased through an exhibition of 30 or so VR short movies from home and abroad. Among the movies are the country's first city promotional video with VR technology - "Our Shanghai" and China's first VR interactive film "Soul Parasite."
About 70 speakers from 20 countries will talk to their peers in China at the NAB Show GIX, which will focus on addressing topics such as innovative business models and technological applications in global digital content ecosphere and showcasing the latest media technologies that are being developed and used in China.
Globally renowned experts involved in the production of "Hacksaw Ridge" and "Ironman 2" were also invited to share their technological expertise and experience in cinematography, visual stunt and post-production.
