Newborn twins found dead at a market

A pair of newborn twins was found dead at the gate of a textile market in Changning District yesterday afternoon.
The twins were dumped in a yellow plastic bag on the roadside about 1:30pm, a witness, surnamed Dai, told the local Labor Daily.
Dai said the babies looked like twins with umbilical cords still on their bodies.
Police said the dead infants were later sent to a local mortuary. They are still investigating the case.
Residents suspected the infants were born at an illegal clinic and were later thrown away by their parents.
