No one hurt in grill restaurant fire

A grill restaurant in the city's Zhabei District was on fire last night but caused no casualties.

The blaze started from the kitchen of the Red Rose Grill Restaurant on Wenxi Road at about 10pm yesterday, and flames leaped through a chimney to roof of the six-floor building, www.xinmin.cn reported.

The restaurant was engulfed in dense smokes. Diners and people living on the upper floors of the building escaped before firefighters arrived.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to put out the blaze. Fortunately, no death or injury was reported.

Initial investigation showed the fire was caused by a chef frying food in the kitchen. High flames ignited oil residues in the chimney.
