CONSTRUCTION of the anticipated Pudong Disneyland park is expected to start in November, a year after the Shanghai government's announcement of the project.

The Pudong New Area government has almost completed residential relocations for the park, today's China Business News cited as an insider as saying.

But Disney declined to comment on the report, the newspaper said.

Construction of apartments specially for residents relocated due to the project has started and are expected to be ready for occupancy by August 2012, the report said.

The amusement park will cover about 1.16 square kilometers, while parking lots and dining areas will take another 2.74 square kilometers. It may take five or six years for the park to be opened to the public.
