Nurse suffers weakened hearing after being attacked by patient's parent at Children鈥檚 Hospital

CITY police have launched a probe after a nurse at Shanghai Children's Hospital was attacked injured by a child patient's parent yesterday noon.
The hospital said in a public statement released online yesterday evening that the nurse "suffered violent attack" during the incident taking place around 10:40pm yesterday at the hospital’s Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Department on Luding Road.
A photo of the victim shows she has deep scratch scars on her face.
The hospital alleged that a medical check completed at a hospital designated by the police showed the nurse suffered temporary hearing loss in her right ear, weakened hearing in her left ear and face injuries. She has been hospitalized for treatment, the hospital said.
"We strongly condemns the violent act and demands justice be served," said the hospital management in the statement.
