Office to handle young offenders
SHANGHAI has become the country's first provincial-level city to establish a prosecution department for crimes involving young offenders, officials said yesterday.
Prosecutors said they will adopt different measures to help save and educate minors, rather than simply sending them to prison. Officials said nearly 60 percent of minors who committed a crime have resumed studies or got a job due to the help of prosecutors.
