One dead, two hurt in truck-cycle accidents

One woman died and a man and a woman were injured yesterday in three separate accidents in which construction vehicles were involved.
A cement mixer vehicle hit a woman cyclist near the intersection of Jungong Road and Kongjiang Road in Yangpu District about 9am. The woman has been crushed by the wheels, witness said.
The woman, in her 60s, was a retired teacher from a local university and lived in a resident community nearby.
Another woman moped rider was seriously injured in the head in Putuo District about 4pm when she was hit by a cement mixer.
In the third accident, a cyclist was hit by a truck in Changning District. The man, a foreigner, fell to the ground when his bike was knocked by the truck, which was making a turn to a construction site.
The man was sent to a local hospital with scratches on his belly and legs.
