Out of this world
SHANGHAI residents will be able to observe the planet Venus crossing the sun on the morning of June 6. But those who miss it will have a long wait for the next opportunity - 105 years in fact. During the transit, Venus will be seen as a tiny black disk moving across the face of the sun, as Venus, the sun and Earth align. The phenomenon starts at 6:11am and lasts until 12:48pm, said Shanghai Astronomical Observatory officials. Anyone viewing the phenomenon should protect their eyes, warned officials.
