Overnight bus lines added for travelers
STARTING today, 28 temporary overnight transit bus lines will be added at the city's three railway stations and two airports to meet the demand of more passengers arriving in Shanghai at night.
Due to many migrant workers and locals returning to the city from out-of-town holiday visits, the public transit authority decided to add temporary bus service to ensure smooth traffic at night.
The authority also placed 15 buses on standby at the Shanghai Railway Station, the Shanghai South Railway Station and the Hongqiao transport hub for use as needed.
The schedules of some of the city's Metro lines also will be adjusted to serve passengers who arrive in the early hours.
