Parks have plenty on in autumn

CITY parks are hosting a variety of activities ranging from chrysanthemum shows to tangerine picking this autumn.

At the Binjiang Forest Park in the Pudong New Area, which is home to more than 2,000 tangerine trees, a tangerine-picking festival will run till November 15.

Park admission is 20 yuan (US$2.90), with an additional 20 yuan to pick and eat tangerines and take 2.5 kilos of fruit home. At the Shanghai Zoo in Changning District, a butterfly exhibition will be held till November 11.

More than 200,000 chrysanthemums, made up of 800 varieties, are on show at the Gongqing Forest Park in Yangpu District as part of the Shanghai Chrysanthemum Exhibition. The exhibition will run till November 25.

A bonsai exhibition is currently underway at the Shanghai Botanical Garden till November 30.
