A man was fined 2,000 yuan (US$326) for using forged information to apply for passport, the Pudong New Area People's Court ruled yesterday. Xuan Shuping, 50, was caught at the Pudong International Airport. Xuan, a stowaway, applied for the Chinese passport with fake identity information because he acquired the German refugee card with the fake name and birth place. Xuan was not the only one who used this scheme. Last year, 97 people were caught using fake ID.
