Performances galore
STAGES at the World Expo will continue to be busy in the final two months of the event. More than 160 new programs will take to the site's stages with at least 7,000 performances, the Expo bureau said yesterday.
Some of the highlights include a collaboration between the English National Ballet and Shanghai Ballet.
The Antonio Gades Company from Spain will present the flamenco dance drama "Carmen."
The Cologne Symphony Orchestra from Germany will also pop by the Expo for a performance.
There will also be folk singing and dance shows from Saudi Arabia, Japan, North Korea, Vietnam and Malaysia.
During the Mid-autumn Festival in September, Macau and Taipei will also hold various events to celebrate the traditional Chinese festival.
As of August 22, 612 programs had been staged at the Expo and 14,000 performances had been watched by 18 million people.
