Photo contest winner
THE first winner of two free flights to Europe was chosen yesterday in the EU Pavilion.
Jia Ning, 38, a company manager from Shijiazhuang City in Hebei Province, won the flights after his photo, Splendor of the Night, received the most online votes in a photography contest held by the EU Pavilion.
The pavilion invited people to upload funny or interesting pictures related to the EU Pavilion onto the Website www.shanghaiexpo.eu. The photo with the most clicks was declared the winner.
The contest continues until September and one winner will be chosen each month.
"I'm so excited to be the winner," Jia said on the phone. He had returned to his hometown in Hebei and couldn't be at the winner's ceremony. He visited the Expo during the May Day holiday and took a picture of the EU Pavilion at night.
"I didn't expect to win," he said. "I just want to share them with more people."
Sponsored by Air France, each monthly winner will receive two return tickets from China (Beijing, Shanghai or Guangzhou) to any European destination served by Air France. Each winner is free to choose the dates and the duration of their stay in accordance with the terms and conditions of the competition.
"I haven't decided which city to visit," Jia said.
