Police catch 132 ticket scalpers
POLICE said they netted 132 ticket scalpers during the 14th FINA World Championships in Shanghai that ended yesterday, confiscating 355 tickets.
Many of the scalpers were apprehended by a plainclothes police team at the Oriental Sports Center, the main sports venue for the event in the city. Scalpers would show up late in the day when tickets for popular events were sold out at ticket booths. They would sell tickets for 50 yuan (US$7.7) more than the face value.
