Police catch siblings over credit card scam
A BROTHER and sister were caught in a credit card scam involving more than 130,000 yuan, police said yesterday.
The suspects, surnamed Zeng, applied for credit cards with the personal information of others, police said.
They then used the credit cards to buy things and never paid the bills, officers said.
The scam was first exposed in 2007 when a woman found her personal information was used fraudulently on a credit card application.
Banks also reported dozens of such losses, police said.
The suspects were at large for nearly four years before they were caught last year in Zhejiang Province, police said.
The Zengs also used fake identities in order to work as migrant workers while at large, police said.
