Police catch thief

LOCAL police said yesterday that they had caught a thief involved in at least 10 burglaries in a community in Putuo District. The suspect, surnamed Qin, 24, broke into rooms usually during the day after he found some locks were not secure, police said.
He had stolen six laptops, three mobile phones and thousands of yuan since March, officers said. Qin had previous convictions for theft, police said.
