Police collar gang of thieves

YANGPU District police have caught 36 gang suspects accused of stealing valuables including laptops and mobile phones worth more than 400,000 yuan (US$58,540), officials said yesterday.
Gang members were detained in late May. They were involved in more than 40 thefts in Yangpu, Minhang, Zhabei and Putuo districts, police said. The gang used a grocery store to hide the loot and sell it off later.
