Police detain 7 suspects in Nanjing Road gang fight

SHANGHAI police have nabbed seven men suspected of taking part in a gang fight on Nanjing Road E. in downtown Huangpu District on Sunday.
The fight broke out around 4:15pm Sunday at the crossroad of Nanjing Road E. and Liuhe Road and left two men injured, police said today.
One suspect, surnamed Yan, was dispensing small cards of ads to pedestrians on the street when he came into conflict with another man doing the same work.
They then summoned their partners for support and the two groups soon had a street fight, police said.
The two injured men are being treated in a hospital and are in stable condition, police said.
