Police in hunt for Metro train 'gunman'
METRO police are looking for a man who upset fellow subway passengers by pointing a realistic-looking toy gun at them.
Officers said yesterday that they have already identified the suspect by going through surveillance camera footage and are now in pursuit of him.
The man was seen holding an imitation weapon that resembled a pump action shotgun while riding Line 9 on Tuesday evening.
His photograph was soon posted on the Internet by passengers who said they felt threatened by his behavior.
One witness said the man "aimed the gun at everyone in the carriage, one by one."
He was able to get past security with the fake gun as he snuck through without buying a ticket, said police.
Police said that being in possession of a toy gun is not against the law. However, it is illegal to take a realistic replica into a public place where it could frighten people or lead to a disturbance.
