Police investigate clinic after girl dies
FENGXIAN District police are investigating a clinic after a 10-year-old girl died following an intravenous drip treatment there.
Medical authorities had closed the clinic which was ruled as unlicensed but it secretly reopened shortly after, today's Oriental Morning Post reported.
Offering low prices, the clinic attracted many low-income residents, particularly migrant workers, a local resident surnamed Wang told the newspaper.
The unnamed girl received a drip at the clinic on Wednesday for coughing. Her condition deteriorated two hours later and went to a local hospital, but later died.
Two clinic nurses who took the girl to hospital have disappeared, the report said.
Police said the staff came from Anhui Province and are investigating.
