Policeman hurt after bus hits patrol car
A CITY policeman was injured when the police car he was driving was hit by a bus yesterday morning.
The officer was in a stable condition in a local hospital, traffic police said.
No one on the bus, which was carrying dozens of tourists from Hebei Province to the World Expo, was injured.
The driver was allowed to take the bus and passengers to the Expo site shortly after police took his details for later questioning.
A witness surnamed Lu said the bus hit the rear of the police car which then crashed into the road barrier on one of Humin Elevated Road's ramps leading to Shanghai South Railway Station at about 8:50am.
"The damaged police car looks like a sandwich," Lu said.
The bus hit the car as it made a sudden turn to dodge another vehicle, according to another witness.
