A TOTAL of 49 prosecutors with family members employed in the legal profession were told to resign last year due to concerns over possible conflicts of interest.
Under new rules introduced by the Shanghai People鈥檚 Prosecutors鈥 Office, prosecutors are obliged to resign if either their spouse or any of their children works as a lawyer, judicial auditor or judicial auction worker. Alternatively, the spouse or child can resign.
