Prostitution, extortion gang cracked, 25 nabbed including women taking plastic surgeries to look like 'college girls'

TWENTY-FIVE suspects have been detained for organizing and participating in a prostitution and extortion scam against those who slept with the women, police from Chongming Island said on Wednesday.

The prostitutes were recruited online, given training and in some cases, also received plastic surgeries to “look like college students”. They allegedly hooked men up over the Internet, police said.

The gang members were recently caught in raids covering 10 spots in Minhang, Putuo and Jing'an districts. Police also seized evidences such as fake ID cards, fake students' cards as well as bank cards used for the scams.
