Publicis Consultants was appointed as Expo 2010's public relations service provider this morning.

Public relations are significant in today's world as globalization is advocated, said Huang Yaocheng, counselor for national participation with the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination.

He hoped the Paris-based Publicis Groupe would contribute to the Expo and thanked the group for its support during Shanghai's bid for Expo.

Philippe Le Corre, a partner with Publicis Consultants, said he believed Expo 2010 would play an important role in cultural, educational and scientific exchanges and development.

Antoine Bourdeix, representative of Publicis Consultants in China, and Cheng Hua Yang, general manager of the group's Shanghai office, were present at the meeting.

The Publicis Groupe, the world's fourth largest communications group, was established in 1926 and provides healthcare, corporate and financial communications as well as public relations and media relations. It is the largest advertising and communications group in France and has business in 104 countries on five continents.
