Pudong market blaze kills 5, critically injuries 1

FIVE were killed and 12 others injured including one in critical condition in last night's farm produce market blaze in Shanghai's Pudong New Area, the city government said.
The local government announced this morning that by 9am today, the fire had caused 5 deaths and of the 12 injured victims, one was in critical condition while three suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The fire broke out at 8:32pm yesterday inside a wholesale dried produce market at 2000 Hunan Highway in Pudong. Before it's put out at 9:18pm, about 2,000 square meters of the market was damaged by fire.
The dead bodies were found at the scene while the victim in critical condition was previously reported to be a 57-year-old woman suffering burns on 80 percent of her body.
The cause of the blaze was still under investigation, officials said today.
