Punk icon a fashion week attraction
RENOWNED English designer Vivienne Westwood is among the top attractions at the Shanghai Fashion Week later this month.
Westwood, who helped create the punk look - safety pins, dog collars and tartan - made famous by the Sex Pistols in the 1970s, will open the event on October 20, said organizers.
The biannual event runs until October 27, with Fuxing Park as the main venue and Shanghai International Fashion Center as the venue for the opening and closing shows. Top Chinese luxury brand Ne. Tiger will also feature at the opening.
Local designers Judy Hua, Jenny Ji and Zhang Feng, young emerging talent, such as Guan Zixuan, and an array of international designers feature during the week.
