THE Shanghai Public Sanitation Bureau said yesterday that the city collected 68,724 tons of rubbish from December 31 to January 3, 24 percent more than for the same time last year.
Local parks had 913,048 visitors, an increase of about 10 percent on last year. The bureau's hotline received 230 complaints mainly about construction rubbish, illegal street stalls and noise from construction sites at night.
