Quality watchdog seize shoddy energy-saving lights
SOME energy-saving lights sold in the Shanghai market were found cheating customers in power input, local quality inspectors said after a surprise check this morning.
In the Jiuxing Construction Materials Market in Minhang District, one of the largest in the city, officials tested lights of five brands. All the three domestic brands failed the test.
A Yinqiu branded product from southern Guangdong Province said its power input is 65W, but the test showed that it was only 30W.
Products bearing Rui'ao and Xiaowangzi brands have the same problem.
The Shanghai Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision confiscated all the inferior lights from the stores.
