Queues to get shorter
SHANGHAI Mayor Han Zheng said the Expo organizers would take measures to shorten queuing time at popular pavilions when he met Vicente Loscertales, secretary general of BIE, the international Expo bureau, in Shanghai.
Visitor flow is expected to rise in July and August amid sizzling temperatures, and the operation and management of the site will face new challenges, Han said.
He pledged efforts to make sure visitors enjoy a comfortable experience and attention would be paid to food and operation safety.
Loscertales said the organizers were continuously improving their service based on the opinions of participants and were doing a good job.
Shanghai Executive Vice Mayor Yang Xiong, Zhou Hanmin, deputy director of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai Executive Committee, and Hua Junduo, China's commissioner general for World Expo 2010, were also at the meeting.
