Rain and strong winds hit city

Rain and strong winds hit Shanghai today and will continue into the night.

The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau issued a blue alert, the lowest on the city’s three-level warning system for strong winds, at 2pm.

Downtown Xujiahui had 0.5 millimeters of rain today as of this afternoon while some 6.3 millimeters fell in parts of Jinshan District.

The rain will stop tonight although it will remain cloudy, but the wind will strengthen and shift to the northwest.

The high temperature will reach about 22 degrees Celsius.

Tomorrow’s forecast calls for a mix of sun and clouds.

Forecasters predicted it would heat up on Wednesday with the mercury expected to touch 30 degrees.
