STAFF at the Denmark Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo will wear red uniforms which will incorporate images of the pavilion, the Little Mermaid statue and a bicycle wheel.
May-Britt Gram, a 48-year-old designer, and Hanne Larsen, 45, won the competition to create a special collection for pavilion staff.
Four uniforms have been designed for the managers, guides, cafe and shop staff.
The Little Mermaid will be exhibited in the pavilion. It will be the first time the statue, a Danish icon and major tourist attraction, has left its`home town of Copenhagen.
More than 100 bicycles will be lent to visitors so they can tour around the pavilion.
The color red is the traditional color in both China and Denmark, and the requirement of sustainability is fulfilled by the use of organic textiles.
