MID-AUTUMN Festival was canceled for diners hoping to celebrate at a restaurant in Hongkou District.
The West Lake Restaurant on Sichuan Road N. caught fire yesterday morning. No casualties were reported.
The fire broke out in the kitchen at around 6:30am when chefs were preparing food.
It quickly spread to the dining area despite the staff's efforts to bring it under control.
