Restaurant killers say they want revenge on former employer
THE two men who killed a dishwasher and injured a waitress yesterday morning in a restaurant of Shanghai's Jiading District said they committed the crime for revenge on the restaurant they used to work for.
The two men, surnamed Quan and Min, are both in their early 20s and are unhappy with the owner of the Chuanfu Hot Pot Restaurant on Meiyuan Road.
They went to the restaurant early yesterday morning and asked to use the washroom. Once inside, they killed a 59-year-old dishwasher and injured a waitress, police said.
The duo then tried to break a safe in the restaurant but failed. They fled with only 160 yuan found in the cashier machine.
Jiading District police were alerted at 5:54am. They caught Quan and Min at 1:13pm in the city of Wuxi in neighboring Jiangsu Province.
The two killers were brought back to Shanghai last night and admitted to their crime, police said.
