Restrictions in place for explosive chemicals and fuel
A moratorium has been put on license applications by businesses associated with highly toxic or explosive chemicals until the China International Import Expo ends.
And businesses which buy or sell these goods must have certification, said the Shanghai Work Safety Administration yesterday. Chemical enterprises are not allowed to change their existing manufacturing techniques.
Vehicles carrying civil use chemical goods will not be allowed to enter the city. Gas stations located in the core area of the expo and within the outer ring of the city have been ordered to stop selling gasoline in bulk. Underground petroleum and natural gas pipelines will be checked every day to ensure their safety.
