Road cave-in slows traffic near train station

A road surface cave-in occurred this noon in a busy intersection near the Shanghai Railway Station. The incident slowed traffic in the area, but no injury or vehicle damage was reported.
The public facility maintenance department said the loose soil under the asphalt pavement was the cause of the cave-in at the crossroad of Hengfeng Road and Chang'an Road in Zhabei District.
The department said the area has poor geological condition and its workers were fixing the problem.
