AN inexperienced driver hit three pedestrians on the sidewalk when she tried to reverse her car yesterday in the Pudong New Area. All three were slightly injured. The driver, surnamed Zhan, had scratched her car at the entrance of Jingdong neighborhood as she tried to get in. A security guard went to guide her in another attempt.
Putting the car into reverse, the woman suddenly hit the accelerator so heavily that the car charged toward three people on the sidewalk, including an elderly woman and her two-year-old granddaughter. The driver was taken away by police. She received her driver's license this year.
