Sailor missing

A foreign sailor fell into the water at a city port after consuming alcohol with other crew members late Thursday night. Shanghai maritime officials said yesterday they were still searching for the sailor but "hopes were fading." A Panama-registered tugboat reported that a crew member fell off at Wusong Port. It said the crew had drunk before the incident and there was a fight, authorities said. A sailor, believed to be a chef, fell off, said the maritime officials. There was no word on the sailor's country of origin. Police were investigating.
