Science festival to start this Sunday at China Pavilion

This year's National Science and Technology Week and the Shanghai Science and Technology Festival will be launched at the China Pavilion on Sunday. It is the first public event to be held in the landmark building after the World Expo 2010.

During the week, more than 400 science and technology lectures, seminars, exhibitions and other activities will be held across the city. One of the week's highlights is the display of China's Beidou satellite in the China Pavilion along with satellite models, theories and simulations. Those who are interested can visit www.beidou.gov.cn for more information.

The Shanghai International Science and Art Festival, which began today in Shanghai Pudong Expo on Hehuan Road, is mixing science with art through fantastic art works from around the world.

The show is free of charge and has bilingual subtitles. Some young Chinese who received training through an exchange program with Italy to become science promoters will serve as guides and interpreters at the show.
