Scissors drunk
A DRUNK man was detained by police yesterday morning after trying to break into a cargo ship armed with a pair of scissors, said Yangpu District police.
No one was injured. The man, who was not named but was described as young, jumped on to a sand ship anchored in the creek beside Jungong Road near Jiamusi Road about 6am, waving scissors, police said. The man jumped into the water after seeing police and later gave himself up. Officers said he was drunk and the case was still under investigation.
