Scooter hit by truck, 2 badly injured

TWO men on a scooter were seriously injured after being knocked down by a cargo truck in downtown Huangpu District yesterday afternoon.
Witnesses said the truck was speeding when the crash took place at about 5:10pm yesterday at the intersection of downtown Renmin Road and Xinkaihe Road.
A large pool of blood and broken moped scraps were left on the scene.
Witnesses said the two-ton cargo truck failed to brake in time to avoid the heavy collision with the two-wheeler.
The victims were unconscious when paramedics arrived. They were still being treated at hospital.
