Secret gambling room busted

SONGJIANG District police said yesterday that they busted an underground casino, arresting five suspects and capturing 31 gambling machines.
Police said the casino in the Xinqiao area was hidden in a secret room of a billiard house, which workers opened only to old customers. The gambling machines had pulleys in order to move quickly when police came and checked.
Seals are fake
A man was caught making and selling fake seals of government departments, Putuo District Police said yesterday. Officers nabbed the man surnamed Wang when he sold one for 150 yuan (US$22).
Faster on passes
Shanghai police said yesterday that they would begin applying the fast-track pass at the city's six toll-gates on Monday, 18 days before the original date on April 15.
