Security lift for wharves

SHANGHAI ferry, transportation and tourism wharves will be installed with monitors and scanning devices by the end of next February for better security, police said.
The city has 53 wharves with annual capacity of about 101 million passengers and 100,000 vehicles. Shanghai police have prevented 15,213 dangerous articles from being taken on board since 2006 and stopped 500 people with dangerous items in the past two months.
