Shanghai CDC promotes child safety seats awareness
ABOUT 60 percent of local families with preschooler have private cars, but only 56.8 percent of them have installed child safety seats. Even among those having the safety seats, less than 75% use the seats often, according to the survey released by Shanghai Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
In order to promote the awareness of using child safety seats, Shanghai CDC teamed up with Safe Kids, an international non-governmental organization on child accidental injury to launch lectures for families with pregnant women and new mothers on the importance of such seat.
A technician station at Pudong New Area Maternity Hospital was also set up, as professional technicians can teach parents and parents-to-be how to properly install child safety seats.
