Shanghai Disney unveils float for festival parade

Shanghai Disney Resort today revealed the design of its float for the opening parade of the Shanghai Tourism Festival.
The float’s centerpiece is a shimmering Disney castle and it will also include a Chinese paper-cut “ribbon” embedded with Mickey Mouse patterns. The brightly colored “Happy Dream” float will mark Shanghai Disney’s first appearance at the annual tourism festival.
Happy Dream will also feature dancers kicking up their heels to a Mandarin version of Disney’s classic “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from the film “Cinderella.”
“The float is the product of design work by an international team of Disney experts including Chinese designers,” said Laurie Jordan, vice president of Shanghai Disney Resort Entertainment. “We are thrilled to support the Shanghai Tourism Festival for the first time and to help promote the city as an international tourism destination.”
The festival’s opening parade takes place on September 13.
