Shanghai doctor helps treat bus blaze victim

A doctor from Shanghai Ruijin Hospital helped treat a burn victim from last week’s bus blaze in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province.

Doctor Huan Jingning, a specialist in treating burns, rushed to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine last night after one victim's condition deteriorated rapidly.

After treatment by Huan, the victim showed signs of improvement.

Huan returned to Shanghai this morning.

Doctors from Beijing’s prestigious Tiantan and Jishuitan hospitals had also traveled to Hangzhou to help deal with the high number of victims, police said.

More than 30 people were injured, 15 seriously, in the blaze on July 5.

A six-year-old Shanghai boy who had lost consciousness woke up yesterday and was talking with his parents.

Eight other victims are still on respirators.
