Shanghai entertains migrant workers with movies

SHANGHAI is offering free movies during the Spring Festival holidays for migrant workers, who have not returned to their homes and stayed in the city for construction projects of the upcoming World Expo.
A total of 50 free movies, or eight per day, would be offered for migrant workers in Shanghai from Sunday to Friday.
"It was very considerate. We are told where the closest cinema is, and we only need to show our IDs to enjoy the free movies," Wang Xianghua, a subway construction worker said after watching Jet Li's Fearless at Ruijin'erlu Community Center of Luwan District yesterday.
Wang was from east China's Jiangxi Province. His wife and son were both at home in Jiangxi, but he said he felt the hospitality of the city with the activity organized by local authorities.
Many migrant workers chose to stay in Shanghai during the family reunion holiday as the Expo construction sites needed them.
