A middle-aged man was hacked in his home in Yangpu District around noon today when he quarreled with some visitors.
The Shanghai man surnamed Chen suffered knife cuts in his hands and legs, police said.
He is believed to be involved in an economic dispute with the attackers. Police are looking for the suspects.
The man was rushed to a hospital and is currently in stable condition.
