Shanghai shipyard's CEO detained amid suspicion of 'serious violations'

GU Tiquan, chief executive of Shanghai Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard, was transferred to the judicial system today for suspected crimes, the Shanghai discipline inspection commission said.

The commission has investigated Gu's "serious violations" recently and found he was officially "in suspicion" of crimes, said the agency in a statement.

It did not state the nature of the crimes Gu is accused of being involved in.
